Hopes And Dreams

A lovely commission inspired by an outfit worn by Camille Clifford

This gown has been a long time in the making. Figuring out how to get literally oceans of
silk chiffon into such a small scale and then actually making it took a lot of thinking about.
The fabric is pure silk chiffon and is as light as air to the touch but has just the right weight
to fall and drape so gracefully on the doll.
It has been made from four layers that graduate in colour from deep purple to lavender, rose
and then white.
Each layer has endless ruffles that trail and puddle on the floor around her feet.
The bodice is very fitted following the curves of the body, then fastens down the back with
tiny invisible press studs.
The neckline has been finished with hand embroidered crystal seed beads in silver, lilac and
purple, gracefully following around the top of the dress and over the arms.

The outfit is finished off with a delicate silk chiffon cape.
This fits around the neckline and then flows away to blend with the hemline of the dress.
The edges of the cape has days of  hand finishing and is embroidered with tiny seed beads to
match the dress.
