Victorian Velvet
Coat

This outfit consists of
a beautiful deep rich
red cotton velvet coat
with teal blue
contrasting trim with
faux fur and gold
details.
The coat is tightly
fitted to the body.
It fastens down the
left side which
sweeps up and over
to the shoulder.
The coat is trimmed at the neck, sleeves and hemline with a soft faux fur in gentle
shades of grey and brown.
The contrasting hem is made from a heavily yet delicately embroidered antique silk.
The front fastening is trimmed with gold brocade lace and trimmed with tiny gold bead
buttons. It fastens with tiny press studs all the way down the front.
There is a matching muff to keep her hands warm. This is made from the embroidered
silk and lined with the red velvet.
She also has a fur trimmed hat which ties at the back with narrow ribbons. It is
trimmed with a brooch of golden flowers and glistening peacock feathers.
The coat is fully lined in a teal blue silk fabric. It has a very full gathered frill around the
bottom to give the fullness to the skirt, this is trimmed with lace.
And, of course, to finish off, she has black Victorian boots.
